1/3 cups olive oil
1 1/2 lb round steak
1 green pepper cut into strips
1 lb fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 can water chestnuts, drained
1 jar homestyle beef gravy
1 large can chow mein noodles
1/2 tsp salt
1 large onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic
1 pkg. long
grain brown rice
soy sauce
Cut steak into 1/4in strips. Heat oil in Dutch oven over medium-high heat and add steak, onion, garlic, green pepper, mushrooms, and
salt. Cook until meat is brown, stirring constantly. Add water chestnuts and gravy. Reduce heat, cover and simmer
1 hour. Stir occasionally. Serve
over cooked long grain brown rice and sprinkle with chow mein noodles. Use soy
sauce to taste.
